An English, PSHE and science based lesson plan featuring caring for cats. Features a story and song and worksheet based activities. Our free primary interactive resource for KS1 and 2 ‚Animals and us‘ is linked to the English and Welsh national curriculums. It’s a visually stimulating resource for interactive whiteboard or PC, that can be viewed in either English or Welsh. Subject areas include learning about RSPCA and its people, volunteering, animals‘ needs, pets in general and ownership.
There are downloadable certificates for children too. A short and appealing animation for anyone interested in understanding how pet food is made. The film explains the importance of a nutritionally balanced diet, how the industry is regulated and how carefully ingredients are sourced. The film then details the production process for wet and dry food. Read Foundation is working with Pets As Therapy, through their Read 2 Dogs project, R. Lesson plan to better understand how Blue Cross helps animals in their care. There are picture cards to download and a sequencing activity.

Fun, structured activities providing dog themed design and make projects, that provide an alternative context for learning to engage and motivate pupils as they explore key curricula objectives for developing design and technology skills including technical systems and controls to make moving pictures, puppets and toys from a range of age appropriate materials. How do we look after pets? This lesson for KS1 pupils focuses on which animals make good pets and how to care for them. It builds on the lesson We all have basic needs. The download includes Question and Answer cards for a ‚visit to the vets‘ role-play, a sorting activity and a link to photographs.
